ให้มีผลเมื่อพ้นกำหนด 120 วัน นับตั้งแต่วันที่ประกาศในราชกิจจานุเบกษา

มาตรฐานผลิตภัณฑ์อุตสาหกรรมนี้ กำหนดวิธีการทดสอบโดยวิธีสารแทรกซึมเพื่อหารอยความไม่ต่อเนื่อง (discontinuity) เช่น รอยร้าว รอยเกย รอยพับ รูพรุน และการหลอมละลายไม่สมบูรณ์ ที่เปิดสู้พื้นผิวของวัสดุทดสอบ ใช้กับวัสดุโลหะ และใช้กับวัสดุอื่นที่ไม่ทำปฏิกิริยากับสารแทรกซึม และไม่พรุนเกินไป (เช่น งานหล่อ งานดีขึ้นรูป งามเชื่อม งานเซรามิก และอื่นๆ)
มาตรฐานผลิตภัณฑ์อุตสาหกรรมนี้ ระบุข้อกำหนดสำหรับกระบวนการและการควบคุมการทดสอบ แต่ไม่ใช้เป็นเกณฑ์การยอมรับ และไม่ได้กำหนดข้อมูลที่เกี่ยวข้องกับความเหมาะสมของแต่ละระบบการทดสอบสำหรับการใช้งานหรือเป็นข้อกำหนดสำหรับเครื่องทดสอบ
This standard specifies a method of penetrant testing used to detect discontinuities, e.g. cracks, laps, folds, porosity and lack of fusion, which are open to the surface of the material to be tested. It is mainly applied to metallic materials, but can also be performed on other materials, provided that they are inert to the test media and not excessively porous (castings, forgings, welds, ceramics, etc.)
It also includes requirements for process and control testing, but is not intended to be used for acceptance criteria and gives neither information relating to the suitability of individual test systems for specific applications nor requirements for test equipment.
